Description

As of December 12, 2022, all bids for this project have been received and are currently under review. There is no current timeline for an award or construction start date. The below solicitation has been kept for historical purposes. The State University Construction Fund is seeking Statements of Qualifications from consultants to provide design and construction services. This project is for the rehabilitation of the Chemistry Building at Stony Brook University. This facility comprises 307,094 gsf and was constructed in 1973. It has eight stories and houses mainly teaching and research laboratories and offices. The MEP systems and research labs are reaching the end of their useful lives. Services are required focused on research labs, MEP systems, and life safety systems. The building will remain occupied during construction necessitating a design to identify a viable phasing planto be implemented over several years. Design services for the full project including the phasing documents is required to be completed to the SUCF Schematic Design level. The services of an academic space planner and research lab planner are required. After Schematic approval, services may commence for the design and construction of phase 1.
