Coring Services for Forge

To propose a program, including all equipment and personnel required to cut and retrieve 4”-diameter core of granitic rock in a high temperature environment in Well 16A(78)-32 at the Utah FORGE site. Two 60 ft coring intervals are planned: core interval #1 is from 5,500 to 5,560 ft (MD/TVD); and core interval #2 is from 10,878 to 10,938 ft measured depth (MD). Core interval #1 is in the vertical section of the well and core interval #2 in the tangent (65o) leg of the well, at the toe. The TVD at 10,938 ft MD will be 8540 ft TVD. The expected formation temperatures at these depths are 320°F and 450 oF, respectively. In both intervals the nominal drilled hole size will be 8-3/4” in diameter, and the extracted core is to be 4” in diameter. The FORGE is located 217 miles south of Salt Lake City and 10 miles NNE of Milford, UT.
