Description | As of May 2023, this project is under construction Okland Construction Company, Inc., 1978 So. West Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84115, Phone 801- 486-0144, hereinafter referred to as "Construction Manager", has been selected by DFCM, hereinafter referred to as "Owner", to be the Construction Manager / General Contractor for the construction of Uu applied sciences building, hereinafter referred to as the "Project. The Applied Sciences Building will be a renovation and expansion of the existing William Stewart Building located to the south of Presidents Circle between the Crocker Science Center and Pioneer Memorial Theatre. The renovation of the existing Stewart Building and the new addition to the west, will be the home of the Department of Physics & Astronomy and the Department of Atmospheric Sciences and include a variety of offices, instructional and research spaces. To support student success, the building will include state of the art classrooms, lecture halls, experimental laboratories, computer laboratories, student research laboratories, collaboration/ interaction spaces, an observatory, planetarium, community engagement facilities, along with meeting, office and support spaces. The scope of the project includes extensive renovation of the historic 40,000 square foot historic Stewart Building along with all new MEP and related systems, and a new 100,000 square foot east-to-west oriented wing on the west side of the Stewart Building. The work of this Phase 3 - Bid Package 2 is comprised of the bidding of the Reinforced Concrete Footings, Foundations, On-Grade-Slabs, Suspended Concrete Slabs, Beams, and Columns; Structural Steel, Steel Stairs and Railings; and Vertical Circulation all as shown on the Drawings and Specified herein.
