Description | As of 5/1/2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award was not established. Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R) services for the construction and delivery of a new 125K sq. ft, Behavioral Hospital with 63 inpatient beds and Outpatient Facilities on an 8.1ac site. Construction Cost Range: $62MM - $72MM *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) is hereby requesting qualifications from Architectural/Engineering firms for services to design of a new Behavioral Health Hospital with an integral Crisis Stabilization Unit and Outpaitent Treatment Facilities (hereafter referred to as The Leatherman Center) in the PeeDee Region of SC and shall be located within the limits of the City of Florence, SC. The overarching tenet is to build a facility that will promote the delivery of leading-edge care in Behavioral and Mental Health and at the same time ensuring an environment that is safe and secure for both patients, clinical care givers, families and visitors. The facility shall incorporate the latest trends in design of Behavioral Health spaces by taking into account the leading-edge patient treatment protocols and best practices of the present day and shall be flexible to accommodate future advances in the care of such patient populations. The built environment shall be one that is conducive to care and promote healing while assuring the safety of clinical care givers, staff, families and visitors and shall incorporate the use of both indoor and outdoors healing and respite spaces within its design. It is the intent of MUSC Health to deliver this project on or before June 29, 2025. The project consists of: Behavioral Health Program: An approximately 125,000 SF hospital to include 63 inpatient beds, 20 Crisis Stabilization beds (4 adolescent and 16 adult), Patient Intake Suite, Outpatient programmatic spaces, Central Dining and servery, Multipurpose meeting room, Multipurpose Gym/activity spaces, Associated service/support spaces. Lobby/Security, At-grade passive and active garden spaces and areas of respite for staff Residency and Medical Student Programs (dedicated per group): Offices and Resident Lounges, Classroom / Conference Space, On-call Rooms and dedicated Toilet/Showers, Resource Room |
