Description

The Board of Supervisors of Upper Tulpehocken Township (the "Township") will receive sealed bids for curbside collection, removal, transportation, and disposal of waste (rubbish and garbage) for each separate dwelling unit located in the Village of Strausstown portion of Upper Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, and the Upper Tulpehocken Township Municipal garage. Clarification Deadline: 8/2/2022 3:00 PM Each bid shall be accompanied by a surety bond (in required form) for ten percent (10%) of the total bid. The Successful Bidder will be required to provide a performance bond with a corporate surety approved by the Township of a sum equal to fifty percent (50%) of the total contract price within ten (10) days of the execution of the contract. The Successful Bidder shall also provide to the Township Certificates of Insurance in form satisfactory to the Township evidencing insurance coverages required in the Contract and Specifications. The township reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to re-advertise and seek new bids if the best interest of the township will thereby be promoted. The township reserves the right to waive any technical defects or minor irregularities. The Initial Term of the Contract shall be three (3) years and shall commence on January 1, 2023, and end on December 31, 2025. The Township shall have the option to extend the Contract for two (2) one (1) year extension terms. As used in this Instructions to Bidders, "Term" means the Initial Term of three (3) years and, if applicable, the two (2) one (1) year extension terms.
