Description 1. Existing metal roofing panels are to remain. Surface prep panels as required to remove rust and/or loose debris. Replace any loose or missing fasteners with one size larger. Insure that remaining fasteners are tight and properly set. 2. Remove existing gutters, downspouts and metal trim. Prepare edges to receive new metal blocking per the project details. 3. Remove existing translucent skylight panels and replace with new 24 gage Galvalume steel roof panels to match existing, “nest” with existing metal roof panels and secure to underlying steel structural framing. 4. Remove existing raised ridge vent assemblies and cover deck opening and replace with new 24 gage Galvalume steel roof panels to match existing, “nest” with existing metal roof panels and secure to underlying steel structural framing. 5. Remove existing flood lights and antennas along wall panel and properly store on-site for reinstallation. Coordinate with owner before removal. 6. Install prefabricated metal curbs at the new gooseneck vent locations indicated on the roof plans. 7. Install spaced 18 gage “Z-clip” supports to secure the lower edge of the fascia (or rake edge) metal, locate within the recessed rib of each wall panel at approximately 12" on center per the project details. 8. At transitional walls between upper and lower roof areas. Cut existing wall panels up 10" from lower roof and install 16 gage “L” fastened to underlying roof structure per the project details. Provide required transitional wall flashings. 9. Install new pressure treated wood blocking (2” nominal) along the edge of the roof as indicated on drawings. Individual pieces are to be installed between existing metal roof seams, secure to underlying steel structure. 10. Minimally secure 1.5” rigid polyisocyanurate insulation board to the metal roof panels with mechanical fasteners or insulation adhesive as needed to retain in place until gypsum roof board is installed. 11. Minimally secure a 1/4" gypsum roof board to the insulation and wood blocking with mechanical fasteners or insulation adhesive as directed by roof membrane manufacturer. 12. Install a strip of single ply membrane flashing along the roof edge, extend 8" out on roof deck, and turn down wall of building per the project details. 13. Install new prefinished galvalume skirt metal, stainless steel gutters, and PVC coated aluminum edge metal per the project details. 14. Mechanically fasten a single ply membrane through the gypsum roof board, insulation and existing metal panels to the existing steel purlins below. (Follow manufacturer’s written instructions, mechanically fastening the roof membrane to the underlying metal roof panels is not acceptable. 15. Raise sanitary ventilation penetrations 8" min. above finished roof deck if necessary, flash-in roof penetrations in accordance with manufacturer’s requirements. 16. Install new gooseneck flashing cap and vents as indicated per the project details, orient vent opening away from the prevailing winds. 17. Install extruded aluminum downspouts at existing and locations. Match existing downspout route along vertical wall, tie into existing stormwater lines (where existing), and provide concrete splashblocks and discharge downspouts at grade per the project details.
