Stutsman County Highways Chip Seal

**As of March 30, 2023, project was awarded to Morris Seal Coat, awarded amount is $707,998.25.** The scope and general nature of the work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, materials and performing all work necessary for performing a maintenance chip seal on 20.68 miles of county highway. The chip seal shall be performed with the approximate following quantities: 116,470 Gallons of CRS-2P Emulsified Asphalt. 3,639.68 Tons of Cover Coat Material-Class 41. Bid Alternate of 29,117 Gallons of CSS-1H -Fog Seal. Questions related to the project may be directed to Mr. Jim Wentland, Highway Superintendent, at (701)252-9040. Stutsman County reserves the right to hold all bids 30 DAYS after the date set for the opening thereof and reject any and all bids and waive minor defects. Work shall commence on this project within 10 calendar days of being issued a Notice to Proceed by the County. Work, when started, shall proceed in a continuous operation from start to finish. All work on this project shall be completed on or before September 1, 2023. All bids shall be accompanied by a separate envelope containing a bidders bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid, payable to Stutsman County as liquidated damages in accordance with Section NDCC 11-11-28. In addition, all bids shall be accompanied by a copy of the contractors license, in effect at least ten days prior to the date set for receiving bids, in the separate envelope with the bidders bond in accordance with NDCC 43-07-12. The successful bidder shall provide a performance bond in the amount of the bid pursuant to NDCC 48-01.2-10. The successful bidder shall also provide a certificate of liability insurance coverage, a current North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance Certificate of Premium Paid, and a Contractors Certificate of North Dakota Income and Sales Tax Clearance. Public liability and property damage insurance requirements shall be in accordance with Section 107 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction adopted October 2020. The bidders envelope shall be clearly marked to identify it as a sealed bid for: Stutsman County Highways Chip Seal Project. Addenda, if any, shall be acknowledged on the outside of the bidders envelope and on the bidders proposal. No bid will be read or considered which does not fully comply with the above provisions as to Bond and Licenses, and any deficient bid submitted will be resealed and returned to the Bidder immediately. All bidders are invited to be present at the public opening of the bids.
