Description

Replacement of existing dry sprinkler systems and related equipment. with a new dry sprinkler system and related equipment in Sommerset & Wicomico HU. Work consists of essentially a Replace in Kind of the existing dry sprinkler piping in the Attic level of the Somerset & Wicomico Building Housing Unit with new black steel piping and fittings. The approximate lf of piping for these bldgs. is as follows; Somerset Housing Unit - 2,000 lf, Wicomico Housing Unit - 2,000 lf , these are approximate numbers. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to verify exact if of piping without any additional costs to the Owner. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to provide all construction, permits, inspections, labor, materials, equipment, services, supplies, insurance, testing and instrumentation necessary to and incidental to the completion of all work as specified herein. The new system shall be to the latest codes. The existing dry air sprinkler system shall not be dismantled until the new system has been tested and approved by the Fire Marshall. All associated costs for the Fire Marshall will be the contractors responsibility. The MBE subcontracting participation goal for this solicitation is: 0 % Project Classification - B The deadline for questions has been established as December 28, 2022 @ 2:00 p.m., to ensure that there is enough time to allow for the A/E to provide responses and possible Addendum issuance if necessary. Prevailing wage rates apply to all contracts in the amount of $250,000 or more. Wage rates applicable to projects of $250,000 or more are attached to the specifications. The work shall be completed within 90 calendar days from the start date of the contract. If the work is not completed within the time period specified, the contractor will be liable for liquidated damages of $ 350 per calendar day as specified in the "General Conditions." Bid prices are irrevocable for a period of 120 days following bid opening. After opening bids, the Procurement Officer may request bidders to extend the time during which the State may accept their bids, provided that, with regard to bids, no other change is permitted.
