Description

The work involves installation of three whitewater structures within the Winnipesaukee River, along with associated channel shaping, bank terracing, and trail construction. The City is collaborating with Mill City Park, LLC, a non-profit corporation formed to develop the project. The project begins approximately 1,000 feet southeast (upstream) of the Sanborn Bridge which carries Central Street/US 3 over the Winnipesaukee River, passes under the Sanborn Bridge, and ends approximately 400 feet northwest (downstream) of the bridge just before the Stevens Mill Hydropower Dam. The Whitewater Park incorporates Trestle View Park and the Winnipesaukee River Trail (WRT) into the project design.
