Description | The Project generally consists of the following major items: 1,015 LF of 8" D.I.P. Water Main 130 LF of 16" Steel Casing Pipe (Open Cut Installation) 3 EA - Fire Hydrants 17 Ea. - Relocate/Reconnect Existing Water Services Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same No pre-bid meeting is planned; questions regarding the project plans or specifications can be emailed to Atkins at robert.bartlett@atkinsglobal.com: Answers will be issued in the form of an Addendum. To warrant a response, questions must be received by Atkins by noon on Thursday, October 6, 2022. The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 90 days, and the time allowed for Final Completion and Contract Closeout (readiness for final payment) is 425 days from the Notice to Proceed date, intended to include time after road construction is complete to allow for water main punch list items and contract closeout. Note that the Notice to Proceed on construction will not be issued until the majority of materials can be delivered on site; Materials can be ordered by the Contractor as soon as the contract award has been authorized by the Owner. Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the OWNER for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, a certified check, cashiers check, or cash in equal amount. The successful bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional Bond(s) as described in the Bidding Documents. All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and re-advertise. Each bidder agrees to waive any claim it has or may have against the Owner, the Engineer, and their respective employees, arising out of or in connection with the administration, evaluation, or recommendation of any bid. The Owner reserves the right to reduce or add to the contract from time to time. |
