| Description | The new electric distribution will consist of a 4-WAY, 5-inch reinforced concrete ductbank, running between 8-foot square by 7-foot high precast concrete manholes. Manholes will be spaced at 400-foot maximum intervals, and as needed for connection to the NCRE buildings and future connections to existing buildings, including Helen Newman Hall, Appel Commons, Balch Hall, and the North Campus Townhomes. Manholes will be located outside of roadways and sidewalks to prevent salt intrusion, but nearby for ease of maintenance and access. Manholes will have 36-inch diameter covers with watertight gaskets, and 4-inch diameter gravity drains to nearby storm drains. Manholes will have two ground rods. The ductbank routing will need to be coordinated with proposed NCRE gravity systems. The new telecom distribution will consist of a 4-WAY, 5-inch reinforced concrete ductbank running between 6-foot square by 7-foot high precast concrete manholes. Manholes will be spaced at 400-foot maximum intervals, and as needed for connection to the NCRE developments.
