| Description | Requirements necessitate a State-owned and operated,high-capacity fiber optic network. The current network supports connectivity to hundreds of field devices comprising the DelDOT Integrated Transportation Management System (ITMS), including traffic signals, variable message signs, traffic sensors, traffic cameras. Additionally,the fiber infrastructure forms the communications backbone for nearly all other Delaware State agencies, supporting a diverse range of essential government services and internal communications requirements. Over the past 15 years, DelDOT has constructed over 250 route miles of fiber optic cable plant, of which 30 miles are aerial. | ||
