Description | Remove all existing fume hood fans from the Penthouse/Attic on the 5th floor level. Consolidate fume hood exhaust to a centralized fan system, to be located outside on the roof in the location of the former cooling tower. Remove existing fume hood fan exhaust stacks within the attic, abandon ducts where they pass through the roof, and abandon exterior on the roof. Cap on each side and infill to prevent air and water intrusion. Existing roof to remain at former cooling tower location (new centralized fan location), add to the cooling tower structure as needed to support new Lab fan to avoid modification of existing roof. No exterior roof work anticipated in this project. Review replacement of the general building exhaust fans and connecting to the new centralized fume hood system. |
