Description

Labor and materials for the "Glenwood Drive Sanitary Lateral Replacement" in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in the office of said Clerk. Each bidder is required to furnish with its proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. The sum equal to ten percent (10%) of amount bid, payable to the City of Twinsburg as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance properly secured. Each bidder must submit evidence of its experiences on projects of similar size and complexity. The owner intends and requires that this project be substantially completed by Nov 18, 2022 All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Summit County and the City of Twinsburg, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, 614.644.2239. The right is reserved by the City of Twinsburg to waive irregularities and to reject any and/or all bids. The Contractor hereby agrees that the City of Twinsburg shall be and is hereby authorized to deduct and retain, out of monies which may be due or to become due to the Contractor under this Contract, as liquidated damages, the amounts which are called for elsewhere in the Contract, for the non-completion of work by the interim dates, or time stipulated, and the project completion date, including any approved time extensions. This sum is not to be construed as a penalty. The City reserves the right to reject/disqualify any and all bids according to ODOT Item 102.14 or advertise for new Bids without liability to the City. A contract will not be awarded for an amount greater than 10 percent more than the Engineer's Estimate. Signed contract books with bond shall be delivered to the City within fourteen calendar days of written authorization of acceptance, or the successful bidder will forfeit the Bid Guaranty to the City.
