Beaver Control and Structure Removal

A. Furnish all materials, equipment, and labor needed in order to complete task orders at locations as assigned in accordance with the Scope of Work. B. Trapping, removal, and disposal of nuisance beaver populations and dams within the City of Chesapeake as directed by the Department of Public Works Stormwater Administrator (SW Admin.) or Designee. Contractor will obtain any necessary permit(s) from the City for any work within the public rights-of-way and drainage easements. The City will obtain any ownership, easements, and/or rights-of-entry for any work to be performed on private lands not currently covered by a public drainage easement at locations where the Contractor is directed to work. The Contractor shall not trespass on private property, and the Contractor will properly dispose of beaver carcasses. The Contractor may retain and sell pelts recovered from performance of the work to the extent allowed by applicable laws and regulations. C. Removal of dams and associated structures as directed by the SW Admin. or Designee. If high water levels preclude initial removal, dams shall be opened to the bottom of the channel four (4) feet wide at the top and two (2) feet wide at the bottom; the entire dam structure is to be removed once water levels have dropped and conditions allow for a safe working environment. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to prevent downstream debris and flooding by removal and proper disposal of all debris.
