Description

The Work includes the following major items: Aquarion Water Company proposes to interconnect their Craigmoor System (CT1180071) with the Ridgefield System (CT1180011). To interconnect the water system, Aquarion plans to install approximately 4,400 LF of 12” Ductile Iron Water Main and construct a new Pressure Reducing Facility to reduce pressure from the Ridgefield Water System (WL 960) to match the water level of the existing Craigmoor System (WL 715). The Pressure Reducing Facility will be located within an easement acquired by the Aquarion Water Company at the intersection of North Street and Barlow Mountain Road in Ridgefield, CT. No changes to the existing water levels are proposed. Once the new Pressure Reducing Facility is operational, the existing Craigmoor Well Station located at Craigmoor Road will be removed from service. Associated site and safety improvements are also proposed to be included as part of the project scope. o Construct new 13’-4” x 17’-4” Regulator Vault with cast in place concrete access stairs. o New interior ductile iron piping. o Install new 8” and 3” PRVs furnished by the Contractor. o Connect to existing 8” ductile iron water main. o New hydrants and sample pit. o New Concrete Pad with new Pad Mounted Electrical Enclosure. o New bituminous concrete apron. o New gravel accessway. o Perform Electrical and Control Work. o New Electrical Service. o New Drywell for sump pump discharge line. o Site Work and Restoration. o Final Pavement Restoration.
