Description

Raceland-Worthington Independent Schools Board of Education (Hereinafter referred to as Owner) invites proposals to provide all Work, including but not limited to labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation for CAMPBELL ELEMENTARY RESTROOM RENOVATIONS 550 RAMS BOULEVARD, RACELAND, KY 41169 All bids must be submitted in accordance with the Bidding Documents issued by the Architect and this Invitation to Bid. A full description of the Project is found in the Summary Section 01 10 00 of the Project Manual. Bid Documents may be viewed at the office of the Architect (Edward Tucker Architects Inc., 1401 Sixth Avenue, Huntington WV 25701, tel. 304-697-4990), the Owner (Raceland-Worthington Board of Education, 100 Rams Boulevard, Raceland, KY 41169, tel. 606-836-2144), Associated General Contractors of Kentucky, AGC/McGraw-Hill Construction, Builders Exchange of Louisville, Inc., and Dodge Data and Analytics. Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or certified check in an amount not less than 5% of the total amount bid, including all add alternates, supported by a Power of Attorney for the bonding agent, a certificate from the Department of Insurance authorizing the Surety Company to do surety business in the commonwealth of Kentucky and a current financial statement of the Surety Company. The bonds shall be on the forms bound in the Project Manual. Bid Bonds submitted by the unsuccessful bidders will be returned promptly after opening of the bids, except those of the two lowest bidders will be retained until the award of the contact is made to the successful bidder and after a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the contract has been executed by the successful bidder. A Contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond each equal to one hundred percent of the Contract Price will be required for the successful Contractor. Other bidding requirements are described in the Project Manual. Bidder will be required to complete the Work (Substantial Completion) within 90 (ninety) calendar days from the date of commencement. As actual damages for delay in completion of the Work are impossible to determine, the successful Bidder (Contractor) and his Surety shall be liable for and shall pay to the Owner the sum of $500, not as a penalty, but as fixed, agreed and liquidated damages for each calendar day of delay until the Contract Work is substantially completed as defined in the General Conditions of the Contract for Construction. Submit offer on the Bid Form provided. Bidders will be required to submit offer under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 60 days after submission. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive informalities, and to re-advertise.
