Description

This project provides for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and work necessary for the milling and resurfacing between MP A-45.70 and MP A-51.35 and the rehabilitation of bridges NB-303, NB-306, NB-311, and NB-334. Work includes, but is not limited to; concrete patching, high strength fiber wrap, fabricated structural steel repairs, painting, asphalt resurfacing, and bridge railing replacement. Work also includes maintenance and protection of traffic. Work items include, but are not limited to: 16,650 Ton Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course 33,855 Ton Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course 460 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, 1 1/2 " Depth 197,334 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface to Existing Concrete Pavement 3 CY Dump Rock, Class R-4 5,900 SF High Strength Fiber Wrap 36 LF Aluminum Bridge Railing 146 SF Concrete Bridge Deck Repair - Type 2 1,108 SY Epoxy Overlay 3,300 LB Fabricated Structural Steel Repairs 5,220 SF Underdeck Protection Shields 156 SF Class A Cement Concrete Repair 222 LF Asphaltic Plug Expansion Joint System Milepost A-45.70 is located approximately 1.5 miles North of the Quakertown Interchange, Exit 44, and Milepost A-51.35 is located approximately 4.65 miles South of the Lehigh Valley Interchange, Exit 56, in Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners. The Diverse Business minimum level of participation established for this project is: DB 8%
