Description | Notice Content Las Vegas Valley Water District Invitation to Bid Contract No. C1530, Pipeline Replacement In Paradise Road Between Twain Avenue And Karen Avenue Pre-Bid: May 18, 2022. Bid Opening: June 7, 2022. See bid documents for times and locations. The bid documents may be obtained by downloading from NGEM website at no cost or call the LVVWD Purchasing Dept. at (702) 258-3200. The proposed Work is generally described as follows: The Site of the Work is located in Clark County, Nevada, within Paradise Road between Twain Avenue to approximately 560 linear feet north of Karen Avenue. The project is primarily contained within the Paradise Road public right-of-way (ROW), with the exception of work within easements near Convention Center Drive and for the construction of the backflow assemblies. The Work consists of pipeline replacement in two segments and the installation of three backflow assemblies along Paradise Road. Pipeline Segment 1 consists of abandoning approximately 3,020 and 1,400 linear feet of 24- and 20-inch Asbestos Cement Pipe (ACP), respectively, and replacing it with approximately 450 linear feet of 16-inch diameter ductile iron pipe (DIP) and approximately 3,900 linear feet of 24-inch diameter DIP waterline. Segment 1 begins at a connection point to the existing 24-inch ACP north of the Sands Avenue/Twain Avenue and Paradise Road intersection and extends north approximately 4,320 linear feet. The new pipeline will connect to a stub on the existing 16" pipeline approximately 130 feet north of the Convention Center Drive and Paradise Road Intersection. The new Segment 1 pipeline will be constructed using open cut and trenchless methods and utilize settlement monitoring where indicated. In addition, approximately 1,200 linear feet of 12-inch temporary above ground DIP will need to be constructed in order to remove and replace the existing 24-inch ACP waterline line in its current location. The existing 24-inch waterline provides supplemental service to the north portion of the Las Vegas strip and cannot be shut down for an extended period of time; construction of this segment of pipe will require temporary above ground bypass piping operations. Segment 1 pipeline will be constructed in two phases. Phase 1 will be constructed during the temporary above ground bypass operations and connected to the existing 24" ACP pipe and will be operational while Phase 2 is constructed. Once Phase 2 is constructed and connected to Phase 1, the existing 24" ACP will be disconnected and abandoned in place. Improvements also include installation of isolation valves as well as replacement of laterals constructed of ACP pipe. Fire hydrant laterals constructed of ACP include removal and replacement of the fire hydrant assembly. A portion of Segment 1 will be constructed either under or adjacent to existing Las Vegas Monorail columns and guideways. Special coordination with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Center Authority (LVCVA) and Southwest Gas (SWG) will be required prior to and during construction. |
