Description | Infilling of the underground vault located beneath the sidewalks along both Broadway and Galena in accordance with Project Plans and Specifications prepared by Fehr Graham. Scope includes removal and replacement of portions of concrete sidewalk and supporting structural slab for access, removal of abandoned utilities and partition walls within vault as necessary, relocation of sump pit, reinforced concrete wall construction (including concrete floor/bedrock removal for footings), flashing, waterproofing membrane, and infilling. The base bid for this project assumes the removal and replacement of approximately 10% of sidewalk/structural slab to facilitate infilling with Controlled Low Strength Material (CLSM). For flexibility in the event that this scope proves to be cost prohibitive, the City is also requesting bid alternates to: 1. Remove and replace approximately 50% of sidewalk/slab to facilitate infill using CA-7 for the portion of vault along Broadway only. The remaining portion of the vault (Galena) would be infilled as specified in the project plans and specs (base bid scope). Installation of a non-structural partition wall/form would be required between the vault sections to allow for proper infill. 2. Remove and replace approximately 50% of all sidewalk/slab to facilitate infill using CA-7 at all locations. Prior to commencement of construction, the City will conduct the necessary asbestos and lead paint survey and abatement (if necessary) for all materials to be disturbed as part of this project. Any questions regarding this bid opportunity shall be submitted to the Director of Purchasing via email at purchasingDL@aurora.il.us by no later than 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Any questions received after this date will not be addressed via Addendum and will not be reflected in the project scope. Accompanying this proposal is either a 5% Bid Bond or a proposal guaranty check, complying with the specifications, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Aurora The bidder to whom the award of contract is made will be required under this contract to furnish a Performance Bond acceptable to the Engineer in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the full contract price, a Payment Bond, Public Liability Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance; all of which shall be acceptable to the City of Aurora. The City reserves the right to waive technicalities and reject any or all proposals as provided in Standard Provisions for Bidding Requirements and Conditions for Contract Proposals contained in the "Supplemental Specifications and Recurring Special Provisions". |
