Transportation Improvement Project - Flanders Road

The proposed intersection improvements include widening Flanders Road for approximately 1,350 feet to accommodate 11-foot travel lanes, an exclusive 10-foot left-turn lane, and 5-foot shoulders; a shared-use path for improved bicycle access; installation of new sidewalk/wheelchair ramps and crosswalk for pedestrian and bicycle access; reconstructing an existing drainage outlet with new headwall and pipe extension; constructing a detention basin and outlet control structure; constructing water main and hydrant improvements; pavement markings and signing; pavement milling and overlay; and the installation of a new fully actuated traffic control signal with pedestrian signal equipment including accessible pedestrian signal (APS) pushbuttons and countdown heads for improved pedestrian accessibility and safety. The project also includes an approximately 1,700 linear foot extension of the BWALT. The trail will be an 8-foot-wide stone dust multi-use trail located adjacent, but outside the curb line of the proposed extension of West Park Drive to Flanders Road.
