Description

Proposals for Pavement Markings which includes Traffic and Lane Lines. We have approximately 197,942 linear feet of double yellow centerlines and 163,673 linear feet of white edge line. General : Traffic Control - Traffic Control is the responsibility of the Contractor. Newly painted lines shall be protected from traffic until the paint is cured. The method of protection shall not constitute a hazard to the traveling public. Damage to any markings, as a result of tracking, shall be repaired by the Contractor. Surface Temperature- The surface temperature of the pavement shall be a minimum of 40°F. Cleanliness of Pavement - The City shall mechanically sweep all line surfaces prior to painting, however, the Contractor will assure the surface is clean, dry and entirely free from dirt, sand, grease, oil or other foreign material immediately before applying paint. Traffic and Lane Lines : Traffic Paint - All paint shall be reflective and meet the State of New Hampshire Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, Section 632 “Traffic Paint”. Traffic and Lane Lines - All line width and spacing will match existing lines. Where lines areno longer visible, the standard will be, for center lines two four-inch lines separated by a four-inch space, and for white edge lines four-inch single line. Dashed white lines will be four inches wide also. Application Rate - Paint shall be applied at a wet-film thickness of 20 mil. Glass Bead Application - Glass beads shall be applied evenly through the entire paint thickness. The rate of application shall be eight pounds of beads for each gallon of paint. Quantity of Lines - There is approximately 197,942 linear feet of double yellow centerline, 163,673 linear feet of white lines Additional Painting: The Contractor may be asked to perform additional painting outside of the original contract. A written change will be required and authorized by both parties. The Contractor will perform additional painting within fourteen (14) calendar days of being notified by the Public Works Project Manager or his/her authorized agent.
