FAA Chiller Plant and Control System Modifications, Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), New England Region, currently has a requirement for the replacement and upgrade of the chiller system and facility building automation system at the Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) located at 3701 Macintosh Dr., Warrenton, VA. The work shall include, but is not limited to, the following: A. Installation of two temporary air cooled chillers. B. Removal and replacement of multiple chillers, cooling towers, chilled water pumps, condenser water pumps and HVAC control system. C. Construction of an access platform related to new cooling towers. D. Removal and installation of power panels, conduit, wire. E. Relocation of fire alarm system devices and fire sprinkler systems. F. Removal and replacement of lighting in the chiller room and cooling tower yard. G. Facility wide replacement of the Building Automation System including all control panels, controllers, some devices and workstations. H. In accordance with Executive Order 13693 the FAA must maximize the use of safe alternatives to ozone depleting substances, as approved by Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) Program. Chillers installed under this SIR must meet the requirement of the SNAP Program.

Division 05 -	Metals, Structural Metal Framing.
Division 23 -	Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Packaged Water Chillers.
Division 26 -	Electrical.
Division 31 -	Earthwork, Site Clearing.
Division 33 -	Utilities, Site Grounding, Site Improvements Grounding, Tower Grounding, Site Lightning Protection, Communications Utilities, Communications Structures, Communications Transmission Towers.
Division 42 -	Process Heating, Cooling, and Drying Equipment, Process Chillers and Coolers.
