Description | The Hagerstown Light Department ("HLD") is soliciting bids for refinishing and powder coating decorative streetlight poles. Inventory includes two pole types, one being all aluminum and the other consisting of (i) an 8'-1" steel pole bolted to (ii) a 2'-3" cast aluminum pedestal with (iii) an 8" cast aluminum capital globeholder. All inquiries should be directed, in writing to Tyler French (Procurement Administrator) at tfrench@hagerstownmd.org. The Hagerstown Light Department is requesting quotations for refinishing and powder coating decorative streetlight poles. Inventory includes two pole types, one being all aluminum and the other consisting of (i) an 8'-1" steel pole bolted to (ii) a 2'-3" cast aluminum pedestal with (iii) an 8" cast aluminum capital globeholder. The old finish shall be removed with a burn-off oven then sand blasted and cleaned to bare metal. The bare metal shall be acid washed and prepared for a coat of epoxy primer suitable for the metal and the specified powder coat finish. Final finishing coat applied shall be Sherwin Williams RGS8-60007 SUPER DURABLE TGIC-FREE, GREEN (no substitutions will be accepted). The Hagerstown Light Department shall be responsible for disassembly, transportation (limit to 30- minute travel time) to and from the Contractor's facility, and reassembly. Any hardware shall remain in place to prevent powder coating of threaded areas. The Contractor shall be responsible for packaging the final product with stretch wrap to prevent damage. Approximately six (6) poles shall be refurbished each cycle. The HLD will communicate anticipated delivery cycles with the successful bidder as they will vary based on weather and work load. Contract shall begin July 1, 2023 and continue until June 30, 2024 unless terminated or extended per the bid/contract details set forth in this document. The contract may be extended one (1) additional City fiscal year for three (3) consecutive years, upon written mutual consent and agreement of both the successful Contractor and the City of Hagerstown.
