Benson Road Improvements from N Bahnson to N Sycamore Avenue

The project consists of construction and paving of Benson Road from N Bahnson Avenue to the intersection of Sycamore Avenue. Work includes 5" ACC pavement with asphalt shoulder, storm sewer removal, 16" diameter water main extension with hydrants and appurtenances, pavement markings, grading for ditch, underground power along with junction boxes, traffic control, erosion control, etc. The Basin 17 Phase 2 sewer extension portion of the project includes sanitary sewer installation along Benson Road from slightly north and south on N Bahnson Avenue to the Benson Road intersection, then east to the Sycamore Avenue intersection. The sewer then continues south to connect to existing Basin 17 Phase 1 gravity sewer. The work includes installation of approximately 110 ft of 6" sewer, 4,400 ft of 8" sewer, 2,600 ft of 15" sewer, and 470 ft of 18" sewer with associated manholes and appurtenances. Some existing gravel access road will also be restored as well as some new access road construction. Grading around manholes to raise the rims above the 100-yr flood elevation is also included. The project will need to be coordinated closely with the adjacent Sycamore Avenue project and I-229 Benson Road Interchange project, Water Reclamation Facility project, Fire Station Training Facility project, and 60th Street North project.
