Description | Renovation of a military facility in Petaluma, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12,500-square-foot military facility. Provide all supervision, materials, tools, labor, and equipment necessary to replace the roof of family housing building 404. Work includes but is not limited to: A. Base Bid: Replace approximately 12,500 SF of shingles on the primary building with identical shingles (40 year minimum) to those on the southern building extensions. 1) Replace all paper underlayment (30 lb roofing paper) on main roof and the northern extensions. 2) All shingles shall be equal to or better than GAF Timberline(R) HDZ High Definition lifetime shingles. The color shall be "shakewood" or an alternative approved by the COR. 3) Field verify all existing conditions and measurements. B. Replace approximately 32 roof penetration storm collars and vents as necessary. 1) Evaluate the condition of storm collars, vents, and existing insulation contributing to the cool roof design. Replace if there is damage or signs of water intrusion. Recommend the addition of vents or insulation in accordance with 2019 California Building Code if appropriate. C. Marry all failing structural components to include rafters, joists, headers, studs, corner posts with wood of equal or better quality than the existing material. Ensure approval is received from the COR prior to work being completed. Approximately 180 LF of structural components to be replaced however field verify all existing conditions. D. Remove and replace all components with severe dry rot damage including dry wall and sheathing after receiving approval from the COR. 1) Approximately 800 SF of sheathing, field verify all existing conditions and measurements. 2) Remove and replace insulation located within 1'-0" of damaged drywall or sheathing. 3) Should plywood require replacement, install CDX of a minimum 5/8" thickness. 1.02 LOCATION: Project site is located at U.S. Coast Guard Training Center (TRACEN) Petaluma Site Location, Petaluma, CA. |
