Description

1. Remove existing boiler tubes from boilers and from SEPTA premises, discarding them in an acceptable manner. 2. Remove loose scale from inside boiler shell(s), furnace tubes and tube sheets, clean tube holes and sheets. Inspect and any repair any defects found. a. Mechanical cleaning methods utilized to remove fouling from the boiler surfaces shall be of the non-damage type. b. Chemical cleaning methods shall be utilized only when mechanical methods are deemed insufficient. SEPTA personnel must agree upon the use of chemicals and all methods in which they shall be utilized 3. Remove all hand hole caps and man way covers, remove gaskets, clean gasket seats, reinstall using new gaskets. Alert SEPTA If any deficiencies are found. 4. Install, complete in place, new boiler tubes cut to length. 5. Seal boilers and fill with water, venting all air. 6. Perform all required tests and submit proper documentation for boiler repair as per AHJ. All services required shall be performed at no additional cost to SEPTA. 7. Keep all work areas clean daily; remove all excess material and debris from jobsite upon completion of work. 8. All work to be accomplished between the hours of 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday
