Description

The project consists of work to be performed within 350 working days from notice to proceed, and consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor, and other work or items incidental theretofore and as generally described as follows: Various site improvements to the well field of the McCormick Woods water system, a public water system that currently consists of four wells designated Well 1, Well 2, Well 3, and McCormick Woods Well 11. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: Installation of a 1,250-gpm submersible pump with variable frequency drive at Well 11. Decommissioning of Wells 1 and 2 and conversion of Well 3 to a monitoring well Installation of a 1,250-gpm booster pumping system The Engineer's construction estimate for this project is $6,140,000. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid security (bid deposit) in the form of a cash deposit, certified or cashiers check, postal money order, or surety bond made payable to the City of Port Orchard, for a sum not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid, including sales tax. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory payment and performance bonds within the time stated in the Specifications, the bid security (bid deposit/bond) shall be forfeited to the City of Port Orchard.' The award of the Contract will go to the qualified bidder submitting the lowest responsible and responsive bid. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any informality or irregularity in the bidding and make the award as deemed to be in the best interest of the City and the public.
