2023 Spring Resurfacing Project

The bidder shall file with his bid either a cashiers check drawn on an Alabama bank, payable to the City of Rainbow City or a bid bond executed by a surety company duly authorized and qualified to make such bonds in Alabama in an amount equal to the lesser of five percent (5%) of the bid or ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00). The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for the satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond or Bonds in the amount required by 39-1-1(a), Code of Alabama, 1975, and evidence of insurance as required by the bid documents within ten (10) days after being notified that he has been awarded the contract. No bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The bidder must comply with all requirements of the public works bid law 39-2-1 et. seq., Code of Alabama, 1975.The bidder has 60 days to complete the project after it has been awarded. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities and to award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder. All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractors Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type work on which the proposal is submitted Any bidder whether a resident or non-resident of the State of Alabama must comply with all applicable provisions of 34-8-1 et. seq., Code of Alabama, 1975, including requirements for licensing as a general contractor and the necessity to show evidence of license before the bid will be considered by the awarding authority. A current license number must be included on the bid.
