Description | The University of Utah generates high-temperature water (HTW) for heating on its main campus with a 100 MMBTUH cogeneration system, two 40 MMBTUH HTW generators (generators 6 and 7), a 60 MMBTUH HTW generator (generator 9), and a 105 MMBTUH HTW (generator 4). Because sixty-year-old generator 4 no longer functions reliably and does not meet current emissions requirements, the University intends to dispose of it. This document describes the scope of work for demolition and HAZMAT abatement of generator 4. Briefly, the University expects the contractor for this project to perform the following tasks 1. Demolish generator 4 and associated structural, electrical, and mechanical components. 2. Abate lead-based paint and asbestos disturbed during demolition of generator 4 and associated components. 3. Install structural, mechanical and electrical modifications associated with demolition of generator 3. |
