Description | The Work for the Hall and Coburn Streets Water Main Replacement And Road Rehabilitation Shall Consist of, but Not Be Limited to, the Complete and Satisfactory Construction and Installation of: - 300 LF of 8" Dia. DI Water Main - 660 LF of 6" Dia. DI Water Main - 400 LF of 3/4 " Copper Water Services - 130 LF of 8" SDR35 PVC Stormdrain Pipe - 27 LF of 4"SDR35 PVC Stormdrain Pipe - 190 CY Aggregate Base (MDOT 703.06 Type A) - 350 CY Aggregate Subbase (MDOT 703.06 Type D) - 700 SY of Loam & Seed - 120 Ton of 9.5mm HMA Overlay Course - 30 Ton of Hand-Placed Pavement (12.5mm & 9.5mm) - 210 Ton of 12.5mm HMA Surface Course - 280 Ton of 19mm HMA Base Course - 3,000 SY of Pavement Removal Work will include the installation of a new water main and services within a portion of Hall Street, and the entirety of Coburn Street. Additional work will include adjusting an existing catch basin on Thompson Street, and laying a new, stormdrain lead to connect to an existing catch basin within the gutterline of Lisbon Street. The existing pavement within Coburn Street will be stripped & paved, with a Type A gravel shim. The existing pavement outside of the utility trench within Hall Street will receive a 1" shim & overlay. Sporadic sidewalks in the right of way will be removed, as shown on the project plans. Coordination with the Water District for requisite shut-downs will be required. Questions and Requests for Information shall be submitted to Paul Niehoff (wniehoff@lewistonmaine.gov) on or before noon, July 27, 2023. No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total Contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder to ensure completion of the work and the proper fulfillment of the conditions of the Contract. The total Contract price shall mean the total bid price as stated in the Proposal based on the estimated quantities of the various items of work. All work, including final loaming, paving and water main completion, must be completed by June 30, 2024. Work performed in 2023, including but not limited to water service trenches, and disturbed pavement areas, must be paved by November 1, 2023. Committee reserves the right to accept any Proposal or reject any or all Proposals if it is deemed to be in the public interest to do so. |
