Description

Work items include, but are not limited to: 1. Preparation and submission of submittals for review and approval. 2. Implementation and maintenance of the Construction Best Management Practices Plan for Erosion and Sediment Control. 3. Surveying. 4. Road Construction and Paving. 5. Clearing and Grubbing. 6. Excavation, soil and rock. 7. Construction of the raw water pump station building. 8. Installation of pumps, piping, valves, surge tank, supports, electrical gear, heating and ventilation systems, controls, instruments and monitors, conduit/wiring, lighting, flow meter, crane and other components and finishes. Control work includes that specified for completion at the WTP. 9. Installation of pump seal water filter system. 10. Extension of existing 48-inch raw water main from the general vicinity of the dam site to the pump station. Work as part of this includes: a. Benching of alignment to provide site for installation of main. b. Temporary bypass of up to 20 cfs from reservoir into the stilling basin to maintain minimum river flows as required by the permit during final tie in. c. Installation of a plug and/or sandbags and a pump within the existing 48-inch pipe to bypass seepage from the gates within the intake tower to provide conditions appropriate for completion of welding and coating of interior of pipe at the welds. d. Installation of valves, piping and vault to allow draining of the 48-inch pipe and for use in short term release of water from the reservoir. 11. Installation of a 36-inch ductile iron main from the pump station to the tie-in point to the 30-inch main completed by others. 12. Installation of new water service and connecting to existing service. 13. Installation of concrete pads, vault, valve, conduit etc. for future chemical feed system to be installed by others. 14. Installation of a security / monitor system. 15. Installation of fencing. 16. Startup and testing of all systems and components. 17. Final site cleanup and stabilization. 18. Demobilization. The Work will be substantially completed in all respects within 430 consecutive calendar days and ready for final payment within 490 consecutive calendar days from the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
