Leon Creek WRC Improvements and Upgrades Phase 2

Work of the Project, in general terms, consists of construction of the Leon Creek Water Recycling Center (WRC) Improvements and Upgrades Phase 2. 1). Removal and replacement of existing grit removal equipment at the Leon Creek WRC and replacement of the two existing headworks electrical buildings with a new electrical building. 2). Provide isolation valves and adjust fire hydrants on the Leon Creek WRC’s non-potable water system. 3). Provide structural and safety repairs to the Leon Creek WRC Flow Equalization Basins (FEBs). 4). Provide a new chlorine injection point at the Leon Creek WRC Filter Backwash Pump Station. 5). Address safety and corrosion issues at the Leon Creek WRC at the Flow Equalization Basin (FEB) Diversion Structure, Headworks, Primary Clarifiers, Common Effluent Channel at the Aeration Basins, and Storm Shelter. 6). Address safety and corrosion issues at the Salado Creek WRC. 7). Install two cloth media filters, replace existing level sensors and festooned cables and update existing control panels for the existing cloth media filters, replace butterfly gates in the eight filter influent channels, replace the existing MCC, and replace the existing radio communications system with fiber optic at the Leon Creek WRC Tertiary Filtration Facility and Backwash Pump Station. 8). Demolish abandoned facilities, process units, and equipment at the Leon Creek WRC, including digesters and associated electrical building and boiler and pump buildings, storm water clarifier, belt filter press area, dissolved air flotation thickener chemical facilities, wet well at the aeration control building, blower facility for the FEBs, pump station near the headworks, and odorous air facility. 9). Replace site paving at the Leon Creek WRC. 10). Install level sensor and alarm panel at the existing chlorine injection vault for the RAS Pump Station No. 1 system.
