Description | The proposed development is planned to consist of a Firearm Complex, a Shoot House, a Berchah Shooting House, and extending the existing Rifle Range from the existing 100-yard range to a 600-yard range. We also understand that the existing parking lot and driveways which are currently covered with dense graded aggregate base in the north end of the complex will be paved with asphalt pavement. It is further our understanding that the proposed structures will be Masonry Block Buildings with Metal Joist Roof system. For the purpose of this report, we assume that column loads for the proposed structures will be less than 40 kips with wall loads of less than 2 kips per linear foot. We understand that the existing gravel paved parking lot will be covered with asphalt pavement. The existing Rifle Range which is about 100 yards long was constructed in 2017 by excavating steep slopes on three (3) sides. The existing side embankment slopes, which are about 25 feet in height, were constructed as 2:1 (Horizontal to Vertical) embankments, with the impact slope face of about 1:1 (Horizontal to Vertical). None of the steep embankments are reinforced. The proposed plans are for extending the Rifle Range from 100 yards to 600 yards will extend into the existing embankment to the south of the Rifle Range and will go through a relatively deep swale and will be terminated within an existing hill. Ground Surface Elevations within the existing Rifle Range are about 625 feet. The proposed Ground Surface Elevations within the 600-yard range are planned to be between 628 feet in the northern end 602 feet in the central portion of the range. Based on review of the latest grading plans, the following cut and or fill placement are required to reach the proposed Rifle Range grades: Fill placement within the existing Rifle Range: 5 to 8 feet Cuts within the embankment to the south of the existing rifle range: Up to 22 feet Cuts within the southern end of the proposed rifle range impact berm: Up to 11 feet Fill height within the South Impact Embankment: Up to 22 feet. |
