Description | The project is generally described as the complete demolition and removal of an existing four-story concrete and steel framed office building and three-story concrete parking structure and all associated construction. Demolition 703 East Main Street FEI-22AL105 Project Location: 703 E. Main Street, Richmond, VA. This project consists of the demolition of, and removal from the project site, a fourstory (plus partial basement) concrete and steel framed structure constructed beginning in 1961 and a subsequent four-story addition including a three-story concrete parking garage constructed beginning in 1971. The work includes the demolition and removal of selected portions of the building & garage substructure, however the basement slabs, deep foundations, and retaining walls are to remain. Remove existing utility services including, but not limited to; electrical, plumbing (comprised of domestic water service and waste piping with associated equipment) storm drainage, telecommunications systems in their entirety to limits indicated. Demolition and removal includes; glazed curtainwall system, precast and brick cladding, doors and roofing systems complete. The work also includes removal of all interior partitions, finishes and miscellaneous built-in fixtures and services. Remove and protect loose furniture and associated equipment and dispose of in accordance with the Owner directives. Temporary support of existing retaining walls are required, as well as dewatering of the site during and after demolition is complete retaining walls will be required, where indicated. Special care shall be taken so as not to undermine existing adjacent buildings and structures. Limited interruption of Richmond government owned sidewalks and paved streets will be required. Obtain all city, state and federal required construction/demolition reviews and permits prior to commencing the work and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents. |
