Lake Country Trail Underpass

The work under this contract shall consist of connecting the existing 10-foot-wide paved multi-use trail to an existing buried box culvert. The project will convert the existing box culvert, built with the STH 67 expansion project, into a pedestrian underpass. Storm sewer, lighting, video surveillance and the construction of new retaining walls will be part of the trail connection. No work will occur within the STH 67 pavement area. Portions of the realigned Lake Country Trail, south of Oconomowoc Parkway, will be located within existing easements on property that is owned by WE Energies, Kwik Trip and Target Distribution Center. Bid security shall be by a qualified surety in the form of Bid bond, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of Bid amount and shall be submitted with the Bid. Bidders shall agree to not withdraw the Bid for a period of sixty (60) days after due date of Bids. Bidders Proof of Responsibility, provided herein, shall be completed and submitted. 10. Accepted Bidders will be required, as a condition precedent to award of Contract, to furnish in the amount of 100% of the contract price, satisfactory Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond and Certificate of Insurance. Failure to do so may result in your response being rejected. Completion delays are subject to liquidated damages. It is the intent of the Owner to award a Contract or accept any Bid which will be in the best interests of the Owner, provided the Bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents and does not exceed the funds available. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities in a Bid received and to accept the Bid, which in the Owners judgment is in the Owners best interests. The Owner reserves the right to accept Alternates in any order or combination, unless otherwise specifically provided in the Bidding Documents, and to determine the low Bidder on the basis of the Base Bid and Alternates accepted. Owner reserves the right to: reject any or all Bids, reject a Bid not accompanied by a required bid security or by other data required by the Bidding Documents, reject a Bid that is in any way incomplete or irregular, waive any irregularities in any Bid, accept any Bid that will be in the best interests of Owner. The right to reject any or all Bids, either in whole or in part, or to waive any informalities or irregularities is reserved by Waukesha County. A Pre-Bid meeting is not scheduled for this project.
