Description | **As of Ocrober 14, 2022,It will not be awarded due to a lack of funding. No definite date for the rebid.**A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: B. Phase 1 : Base Bid Scope of work - Exterior Doors Security Card Readers and Door Contacts, including any necessary door hardware modifications to accommodate the new electrified hardware and any associated work for final completion. Phase 1 : Add Alternate 1A-1 The New Security Cameras, including any necessary camera and cabling modifications to accommodate the new security cameras and any associated work for final completion. The area of work will be confined to the existing building and the perimeter of the building. The security upgrades consist of door, door hardware, security camera and associated electrical and electronic safety and security upgrades. Minor restoration will be required at all the affected openings and entrances. The work is based on the security assessment provided by the University of Connecticut Police Department, information from the staff of the Student Union and Public Safety. The Student Union was constructed in 1953 and added onto in 2008 and is comprised of a lower level, 4 floors above grade, a mechanical penthouse level and a roof level. The construction type is assumed to be 2B construction with reinforced concrete structure, reinforced concrete decks, reinforced concrete basement foundation and a masonry infill. The building is currently sprinklered and has a fire rating consistent with 2B construction for fire rating requirements refer to the contract documents. The current occupancy classifications would be B, Business, A-3 Assembly & S Storage. The purpose of this Invitation to Bid isto solicit bids for the Student Union Security Card Access & Camera Upgrades for construction services. Q&A (RFI) Due Date and Time 9/13/2022 2:00 P.M. |
