Description | The project includes civil site work associated with the conversion of five grass ballfields to artificial turf fields, fencing, subsurface drainage, ballfield plaza improvements, parking lot lighting, service utilities, and storm drainage; construction of eight pickleball courts, with fencing, lights, and site furnishings; construction of a new playground; improvements to the Veterans Memorial Plaza; expansion of two ponds; walkways and other site improvements. Bidders will be required to submit recent and relevant project experience and associated references for constructed examples of laser graded fields, pickleball courts, playgrounds, drainage profiles, and parking lot and courts lighting. The work will be awarded in one Contract. Call prior to picking up documents to ensure availability. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available directly from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of bidding Documents including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. No part of the purchase will be refunded. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Owner; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying its current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. If subcontractor(s) are used, they must be in compliance with Alabama Contractor Licensing laws. The Owner will in no way be liable for any costs incurred by any bidder in the preparation of its Bid in response to this Invitation to Bid. The successful Bidder for this Contract will be required to furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond and Payment Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the Bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and to re-advertise.
