Description

As of April 24th, 2023 this project is pending an award decision. This Contract consists of providing the labor, materials, equipment, tools and services necessary to perform and complete in a workmanlike manner all work required for minor repairs, sandblasting, hand tooling, and painting a multicoat system on the interior and exterior of an elevated, 5-legged, 200,000-gallon water storage tank, and an elevated 4- legged, 50,000-gallon water storage tank. The high-water levels of the existing tanks are 122 feet, and 121.5 feet respectively. Work includes the installation of Safety Climb systems on the riser and bowl ladders of the 50,000-gallon water tower, and the bowl ladder on the 200,000-gallon water tower. The 200,000 gallon water tank is located at E.Hasse Drive and 221 Beck Road and the 50,000 gallon water tank is located at S. Bernhardt and 21 E. 4 th Street in Gerald, MO. The project must be completed in 180 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Payment will be made in accordance with the provision of the terms of payment in the Contract. Bids shall be submitted on the provided forms in the Contract Documents. Bids shall be accompanied by Bidder's certified check or Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid Price. Prior to Contract execution, the successful Bidder will be required to furnish a certificate of insurance and Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. Bidders on the work will be required to comply with Missouri State prevailing wage rates, including fringe benefits, which are included in the Contract Documents. Bidders will be required to submit a summary of their qualifications on the forms included in the specifications. A qualified bidder must have a minimum of ten years previous water tower maintenance, repair and coating experience as a prime or general contractor. A work experience summary and references must be provided substantiating this minimum experience as a part of the bid package. The contract will be awarded based on the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder on the firm fixed unit price bid. Contract award will be made only to responsible contractors possessing the ability to perform successfully, which will be determined by considering such matters as contractor experience, integrity, number of previous project change orders on referenced jobs, compliance with public policy and OSHA Standards record of past performance, and financial and technical resources. Financing for this project is with City funds. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids received and to waive or not to waive any or all irregularities. By submitting his Bid, the Bidder agrees to pay as liquidated damages the sum of $200 for each calendar day thereafter as hereinafter provided in the General Conditions.
