Description

It is the responsibility of the bidder to be sure the bid is submitted prior to the date and time indicated above. Free digital versions of the plans and specifications are available on the vendor portal. Hard copies are no longer available for purchase. At the time of submission of the bid and thereafter, each bidder must be licensed as a Class B General Building Contractor as defined in Sections 70557058 of the Business and Professions Code. Each bidder shall set forth on the Bidder's Information Sheet and the Contractor's License Affidavit the classification and number of the requisite license which that bidder holds. The CITY reserves the right to award the contract to the contractor with another license class if the CITY determines that the license class is proper for the proposed work. A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. Please note: It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded . Any bids submitted without proof that bidder and any listed subcontractor(s) are currently registered and qualified to perform public work, pursuant to Labor Code Section 1725.5, may not be accepted by the City. The Scope of Work is as follows : The scope of work of this project involves interior improvements of approximately 3,700 square feet of space for the City's tenant, Priceless Pets, including new flooring, ceiling and lighting throughout. Additionally, the renovations include new dog kennels, cat condos, surgery and exams rooms, and laundry room. The exterior building improvements entail new windows, new entry tower features, new metal awnings, a new parapet roof, and four new HVAC units. Adjacent to the easterly side of the building, a landscaped area for a dog run will be constructed. The site improvements involve repaving the parking lot, constructing new ADA curb ramps, and sidewalk. Online Questions and Answers will be due via the City of Industry's PlanetBids TM vendor portal on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. ISE PROJECT NO.: 22-7610.0003, 21-890 Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a Cashier's Check or Bidder's Bond for not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the CITY OF INDUSTRY . The contractor may, at his own expense, substitute securities for monies to be withheld to ensure performance under the contract. ENGINEER'S ESTIMATE $1,507,400.00
