Description

* Bidders MUST contact Jeannie Jefferies jjefferies@hagerstownmd.org to be added to the Plan Holders List. SCOPE OF WORK: This contract entails the maintenance of traffic; removing existing pavement markings; layout and placement of hot-applied thermoplastic pavement markings; painted long lines; pre-formed thermoplastic symbols and other related items necessary to complete the projects in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared by the City of Hagerstown, Maryland for a period of 24-months beginning August 1, 2023 No pre-bid meeting is planned. Direct questions to Bill Killinger at 301-739-8577 ext. 129. DESIGNER: Contract documents and plans as prepared by the City of Hagerstown Engineering Department. List of overlay streets is included in these bid documents and drawings will be furnished to the successful bidder as part of these contract documents. LENGTH OF CONTRACT: This is a 24-month contract and will include a number of projects throughout the year. The main work will be thermoplastic pavement markings on the overlay streets as well as re-applying existing stopbars and crosswalks in thermoplastic and re-painting existing street lines as directed, and throughout the year there will be other projects to complete. Once the contractor is notified of each project, he shall begin and complete each as described on the "Project Description". This open-ended contract has the potential of being re-newed 3 additional 12 month periods. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: Liquidated damages are assessed at $ 300.00 per day. FUNDING: Funding for this project is provided by The City of Hagerstown, Maryland. BID BOOKLET: The separate Bid Booklet attachment shall be completed by the Bidder & submitted as the Sealed Proposal, BID SURETY: 10% Bid Bond, Cashier's Check or Certified Check to be submitted with the Sealed Proposal. CONTRACT BONDS: The successful Bidder shall submit a 100% Performance Bond and a Labor & Materials Payment Bond upon award of contract. ESTIMATED START: Notice of Award will be issued around June 1, 2023
