Description | The elevators the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center have reached the end of their useful life and require the modernization of 7 traction elevators, 1 hydraulic elevator, and 2 dumbwaiters. The elevators the Forsyth County Law Enforcement Detention Center have reached the end of their useful life and require modernization. It is anticipated that the project will include, but not necessarily limited to, cab finish replacement, new braking and safety systems, new controllers and drives, replacement of worn-out door components, and updates to meet current elevator code. The project has a global budget of $1.5M to modernize 7 traction elevators, 1 hydraulic elevator, and 2 dumbwaiters. The selected firm is to provide the following: 1.) Employ a vertical transportation consultant to review and specify all elements of the elevator modernization. 2.) Evaluate measures to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs for the facility. 3.) Evaluate condition of elevator machinery for reuse. 4.) Provide plans and specifications suitable for competitive bidding (i.e. 3 brands). 5.) Attend pre-bid and bid opening, and certify the bid results. 6.) Provide construction administration services during project execution. 7.) Provide project closeout services.
