Description | The City of Taylor is accepting bids for modifications to the Taylor Sportsplex refrigeration plant. The modification will involve the following; 1. Evaporative condenser. Removal and disposal of the existing model number Frick XLP-XL 710 condenser, supply and installation Frick model number XLP3-12180533-030 (or similar) flooded sump evaporative condenser. The replacement condenser must be suitable for winter operation. (The Frick condenser was selected due to the dimensions match the existing support structure) Structural study was completed by the City of Taylor engineer to confirm the existing structure will support the proposed unit. 2. Remote sump. Removal and disposal of the existing remote condenser water sump and condenser water pump. 3. Condenser water pumps and components. Supply and Install two (2) new condenser water pumps, strainers and isolation valves, each sized to meet flow specifications of the replacement evaporative condenser. The condenser water pumps are to be located on the remote sump pad. 4. Condenser fan motor speeded drive(s). Supply and install condenser fan motor speed drive(s). Output from each speed drive to the condenser fan motor(s) are to be run in separate conduit(s). Control of the speed drive(s) is to be coordinated with CIMCO Automation Group. 5. Controls. Supply and installation of condenser sump heater, sump level control, motorized condenser water makeup valve and motorized blowdown and freeze protection valves. Automation and control of the plant is to be coordinated with CIMCO Automation Group. 6. Mechanical. a. Contractor is to supply all labor, components, machinery and equipment necessary to perform the tasks listed above. b. All ammonia piping, fittings and components must conform to ANSI standards. c. Welding on ammonia system piping must be performed by a qualified welder utilizing qualified welding procedures in accordance with State, Local and Federal codes. d. Care must be taken to protect the refrigeration piping, fittings and components free from dirt, rust and other contaminants. e. Contractor is responsible for pumping down and isolating the condenser system. f. Leak test all welds and fittings. g. Dehydrate the refrigeration piping using double evacuation method. h. Check, test and start system. i. Clean up and disposal of replaced components and installed materials. j. Paint and label piping. 7. Electrical a. Contractor is to supply all labor, components, machinery and equipment necessary to complete the tasks listed above. b. Supply and install condenser fan motor speed drive(s). Output from the speed drive(s) to the condenser fan motor(s) are to run in separate conduit(s). c. Supply power to all operational devices, motors, motorized valves and controls. d. Coordinate with CIMCO Automation Group for controls and control of the system. 8. State certified welder on the job 9. Contractor is responsible for meeting all local & Federal code pertaining to ammonia refrigeration systems 10. Contractor is responsible for the evacuation and cleaning of all the ammonia pipes and the leak testing |
