Description

The project is generally described as the riverbank protection, sediment removal and sidewalk restoration for the 2022 Kingman Park FEMA Mitigation project. Specific improvement includes the following: The Ninnescah River and Mill Race banks will be protected with either riprap slopes or a vegetated geogrid slope at the following location. o 100 linear feet of Ninnescah River south bank east of river split with riprap protection o 970 linear feet of Mill Race north bank east of river split with vegetated geogrid slope protection o 260 linear feet of Ninnescah River south bank starting at 1,300 feet east of Main Street bridge with vegetated geogrid slope protection. An overgrown south river overbank will have over 3,000 cubic yards of sediment and heavy vegetation removed from approximately 350 feet to 1250 feet east of the Main Street bridge. Over 2,000 linear feet of trail will be realigned, and 70 linear feet of the trail will be replaced with 3 low water crossings to provide better infrastructure resiliency during frequent flood events. Trail lighting with 3 light poles will be added to a portion of the trail that is not currently lighted.
