Description

** this project has been awarded to K&E Excavating, Inc in the amount of $442,500. ** The City of Bend (City) invites Sealed Bids for construction of the Thurston Drainage Improvements. The Project consists of stormwater drainage improvements intended to eliminate two areas of isolated flooding in the NE quadrant of Bend. The work consists of installation of PVC pipe for stormwater conveyance, installation of concrete catch basin inlets, installation of storm sewer manholes. The City may exercise an alternate bid to install additional PVC pipe for stormwater conveyance, installation of concrete catch basin inlets, installation of storm sewer manholes. The Engineers estimate for both schedules is $697,000 to $891,000. Bidders are responsible for making sure they have all addenda before submitting bids. Bidders should leave plenty of time for delivery as Bend City Hall is open at reduced capacity. Bidders are encouraged to email tracking numbers to hherauf@bendoregon.gov. The City has provided a secure drop-box at the Wall Street City Hall entrance to collect hand delivered packages or Bidders can call (541)-388-5504 to make an appointment to coordinate in-person delivery. Prequalification is a requirement. Prequalification process is administered by the Private Development Engineering Division through the CityView permit and licensing software and customer portal. You can verify if you are Prequalified by going online. New applications for the City of Bend prequalification must be received at least five days before the bid deadline. Registration for the customer portal may be obtained online at above webpage. Once registered select "Apply for a Qualified Contractor License" and follow the instructions. For the field "Please describe the types(s) of contracting you do" it is important to type "For Current Bid" followed by the type of work requesting approval for to ensure your application is processed promptly. This project is subject to the provisions of ORS 279C.800 through 279C.870 regarding payment of prevailing wages. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Contractor shall construct Thurston Drainage Improvements - Project WA21AA. The Project is described in more detail in the attached Exhibit A - Scope of Work. Contractor is required to furnish all materials, labor, water, tools, power, equipment, transportation and other work needed to construct the Project, unless otherwise indicated in the Contract Documents. Description of Project: The Project consists of installation of PVC pipe for stormwater conveyance, installation of concrete catch basin inlets, installation of storm sewer manholes. Restoration will include asphalt trench paving, unimproved trench patching, concrete curbs, concrete walks, and 1 driveway approach. Base Bid: The Work includes install of approximately 318 feet of 18-inch, 171 feet of 12-inch, and 32 feet of 8-inch C-900 PVC pipe for stormwater conveyance. This portion of the project will include installation of 5 concrete catch basin inlets, 2 storm sewer manholes, 1 concrete stormwater sedimentation manhole, and 1 stormwater drywell. Restoration will include asphalt trench paving, unimproved trench patching, concrete curbs, concrete walks, and 1 driveway approach. Alternate Bid: The Work includes install of approximately 137 feet of 12-inch, and 88 feet of 8-inch C900 PVC pipe for stormwater conveyance. This portion of the project will include installation of 5 concrete catch basin inlets, 2 storm sewer manholes, 2 stormwater sedimentation manholes, and 2 stormwater drywells. Restoration will include asphalt trench paving, concrete curbs, concrete walks, and 1 driveway approach. Purpose of Project: Purpose of project is to improve stormwater drainage intended to eliminate two areas of isolated flooding in the NE quadrant of Bend.
