Description | Construction of the 2022 ARTERIAL DIG OUT AND OVERLAY PROJECT, FORMAL BID NO. 2022/03, consists of consists of pavement repair on Alvin Avenue, Battles Road, College Drive, Depot Street, Skyway Drive, and Stowell Road and all work necessary to render the facility complete and operational. The pavement quality of these roads has been deteriorating over the years with Alvin, College, and Battles bearing the most damage. Sections of Alvin, College, and Battles will receive overlay treatments while dig out repairs will be performed on sections of Depot, Skyway, and Stowell. By rehabilitating these roads, the City's Pavement Condition Index (PCI) will improve, and residents will have safer, more structurally sound roads to drive on. Requests for information or clarification must be submitted IN WRITING and received in theDepartment of Public Works no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Requestsmay be submitted via e-mail to: zglick@cityofsantamaria.org. The Design Engineer has calculated an estimate of probable construction costs for this project. The City does not wish to publicize the engineer's estimate of the project cost since this information may tend to influence the number and nature of bids received. However, for the bidder's convenience, the City will publicize that the engineer's estimate for the base bid falls within a range of $3,300,000 and $3,900,000. Bid security, in an amount not less than 10 percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount, is required to be submitted with each bid. The bid security shall be in the form of a bidder's bond or a certified or cashier's check drawn upon a responsible bank made payable to the City of Santa Maria, and conditioned to be forfeited to said City in the event that the bidder, if the bid is accepted, does not enter into a written contract within ten (10) days after the awarding of the contract. The bidder to whom award is made will be required to furnish a payment bond and a faithful performance bond. As required under Contractor's License in the Instructions to Bidders of the bidding documents, bidders shall be licensed as a Class "A" General Engineering Contractor. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. A pre-bid conference WILL NOT be held for this project. The City of Santa Maria reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all minor irregularities. |
