Y--Upgrade Elevators (VA-20-00017253)

Scope of Work: Furnish all necessary professional Construction services to provide complete scope of work to Correct Interior Deficiencies in accordance to the project drawings and specifications for the VA NJ Health Care System, East Orange, NJ. 1. A complete modernization to upgrade the passenger and service elevators in Buildings 1, 2, 5, and 7 to allow the elevators to perform for a long time without any major repairs. 2. There are total of 15 elevators at the Main Hospital, Building 1: 6 elevators serve from C-level to the 13th floor; 6 elevators serve from B-level to the 13th floor; 2 elevators serve from A-level to the 13th floor and one elevator serves from B-level to the 3rd floor. 3. One elevator at Building 2 serves from the basement to the 3rd floor 4. One elevator at Building 5 serves from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. 5. One elevator at Building 7 serves from the basement to the 3rd floor. 6. Elevator types include gearless traction and hydraulic. 7. Replace existing with new hoisting machines, hoisting ropes, car governors, elevator controller and add emergency brake. 8. Inside elevator cars, replace with new ceiling, wall panel, flooring, car operating panels exhaust fans, LED lighting and stainless-steel handrails and bumper guard rails to meet existing renovated elevators in Building 1, ADA and VA Elevator Design Guideline requirements. 9. Elevator doors will be replaced with new stainless steel. Refurbish and finish existing entrance frames. 10. No elevator lobby work except upgrading call buttons and lanterns. 11. Install new level numeral and letters on both sides of frame, font and text size to match VA image design standard.
