Widening of Harrison Road - Old Plank to Gordon - Spotsylvania County

This project would complete the widening of Harrison Road from two lanes to four lanes between Rt. 3 and Gordon Road. Currently, there is a bottleneck of traffic where the lanes shift from four lanes down to two, particularly headed towards Rt. 3. The left turn lane off Harrison onto Old Plank is sufficient for only three vehicles to queue, causing through traffic to back up and stop between Gordon and Old Plank. This project is in included in the Spotsylvania County FY 2023-2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of July 16, 2022, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
