Description | Contractor must systematically grid out 525 acres of IHAP and apply Garlon 3A, or the generic equivalent pre-approved by the DNR Project Manager, to spot treat trees on specified properties located in Harrison County, Iowa. On average, the canopy cover of trees in the grassland is between 5-10% with trees ranging between 5-10 feet in height. See Attachment A and B for locations. o Foliar spray mix must consist of at least 2% solution of triclopyr and a non-ionic surfactant containing penetrant. Rate of surfactant must be per the label recommendations. o Sufficient spray volume should be used to obtain complete coverage of the target plant foliage. o 1 week after initial herbicide application, Contractor must complete a follow-up systematic search to spot treat any trees that were missed in the initial application. o The Contractor must adhere to all manufacture chemical directions including application rate using the DNR pre-approved chemical. Contractor must hold an Iowa Commercial Pesticide Applicators License issued by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS) Pesticide Bureau and provide the license # to the DNR Project Manager.
