Description Maintenance services shall include, but not be limited to, litter pick-up, weeding, pre-emergent herbicide treatment, mulching, watering, fertilizing, disease and insect pest control, and other procedures consistent with good horticultural practice and industry standards necessary to establish normal, healthy growth of all plants included in the planting beds. Chemical treatment of weeds is to be provided at the City’s option (via Schedule B) for hard surfaces including curbs, gutters, and sidewalks in the South Norfolk TIF Area encompassing Poindexter Avenue and I-464/Truxton Street Island. Replace dead, diseased, and damaged plantings in the existing beds as necessary. Once the contract is awarded, the Contractor and a representative of the City shall meet at each site to inventory and determine the health of the plantings. Any dead or diseased plantings which require replacement at that time will be the responsibility of the City. After the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is issued, the replacement of any dead or diseased plantings shall be the sole responsibility of the Contractor. The cost of any replacement plantings after the NTP is issued shall be incidental to the monthly cost.
